Bhatnagar International School, Vasant Kunj felicitated for making maximum number of learners
The Literacy Project is one of the premier projects of Bhatnagar International School under which the students teach the unlettered slum dwellers.
The School receives great impetus to work persistently towards this pioneer project under constant motivation of the School Principal Mrs. ShilpaBhatnagar. She encourages all the students to serve the society selflessly and to lend a helping hand to the less fortunate brethren of the country.
The Annual Award Giving Ceremony of Delhi Schools' Literacy Project was held on 28 April 2017 at Springdales School, DhaulaKuan, New Delhi.
The Chief Guest of the function Mr. Ajay Tirkey (IAS), Director General (NLM)and JS, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, gave away the awards to the proud recipients. The Street Play "MeraHaqMujhe Do" presented by our school students was highly appreciated and applauded by the audience.
The school won the SufiaAjmali Memorial Trophy for teaching 4011 learners, the highest amongst all the 52 participating schools of Delhi for the fifth consecutive year.
PragyaBhutoria and SomyaMirg of class XI and VII respectively received Siri Ram Jolly Memorial Scholarship of Rs.1000/- each for making 111 and 30 learners literate. Pragya also won M. L.Kapoor Memorial Trophy for making the second highest unlettered literate.
Garv Prabhakar of Class VII received the Raj Mohan Kapur Scholarship of Rs. 1000/- for making 47 learners literate.
The school was highly appreciated for its dedication and zeal for taking the sublime literacy mission forward fruitfully and efficiently.
